Wedding etiquette is important

Your wedding is yours alone and there’s nobody to tell you what to do and what not to do. At the same time though, weddings are formal events in one’s life and it is important to make sure that you follow the wedding etiquette – especially if you want to keep everything classy and elegant.

  •  Believe it or not, wedding etiquette should not limit you from being creative or from having the wedding you have always dreamed of. You can do both of these things even when you follow the etiquette! Here are some of the most important wedding etiquette things to keep in mind:
  •  If you are planning a destination wedding, remember to send Save the Date cards at least 6 months before the actual wedding. This way, your guests will be able to take the days off well ahead of time.
  •  For Save the Date cards and for wedding invitations, it is very commonly encountered that brides include a RSVP with the card proper. Some of the guests will choose to not respond at all though, so make sure you are prepared for it. If you see some of them not replying at all, you are allowed to call them! After all, your reservations will depend on this!
  •  Also, if you are having a destination wedding, you should know that it is not absolutely necessary that you pay for your guests’ trip. Generally, they know that they should be doing this themselves. It would be nice to arrange accommodation for them and to offer them some welcome baskets too, though! Also, bear in mind that all of them should be invited to the rehearsal dinner and that it would be a great idea to offer them a free breakfast after the wedding too!

At Black Horse Inn, we want to make sure your wedding turns out just as you have always dreamed it to be. Our superb venue will be able to accommodate all of your guests and it will definitely make for a day to remember for everyone invited!
