We are always so excited to welcome couples who married at the Black Horse Inn back for their anniversary. Such a thing happened this weekend with Mallory Schulz and Craig Conta who celebrated their wedding reception here on August 4, 2012.
We remember their reception well. The bride and groom departed for their church wedding at Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville. Guests arrived back at the Black Horse Inn in the late afternoon to enjoy libations and hors d ‘oeuvres while finding their place settings in a tree of bluebirds.
Our bride Mallory wore the most exquisite gown that looked much like feathers. The wedding cake replicated the soft folds of her gown. It was a brilliant creation of Windows Catering. Craig looked dapper in his tux, along with the cadre of bridesmaids and groomsmen adorned in a deep purple.
The floral arrangements were exquisite and the tables took on a peacock theme, with blues and purples and greens. Bluebells did a fabulous job with arrangements resting on very tall vases for a really spectacular effect. The feather and nesting theme carried though onto the tables with alternating favors of bird cages and nests. The wine(s), champagne, and ultimate menu was exquisite with added flair from the FOB and MOB.
Mallory’s brother was responsible for the union of this couple. Craig was Mallory’s brother’s roommate in college! They were engaged in January of 2012. Mallory is a dental hygiene student and Craig is a manufacturing engineer at Meso Scale Diagnostic. This couple’s advice for wedding planning is to relax! They most enjoyed seeing their family and friends at the Black Horse Inn, all together for them to celebrate their big day. They will honeymoon in Cancun.
Today, Mallory is finishing up school in Winchester as a dental hygenisit. Craig is still gainfully employed as a manufacturing engineer at Meso Scale Diagnostic in Maryland.
They brought their photo album and we flipped through the pages with a steaming cup of coffee. Great memories of a terrific couple on August 4, 2012 last year. Many of their photos taken by Abby Grace were featured on the Knot. Thank you Mallory and Craig for sharing your special moments with us. Come back and visit us again next year.
