A Stunning Summer Wedding at the Black Horse Inn

Although we’re already feeling the fall here in Virginia, we wanted to look back at one of our summer weddings. Mercedes and Lenny were married here at the Black Horse Inn in July, and they captured a timeless vintage feel for their summer wedding weekend.

They began their wedding weekend on Friday, with guests arriving and enjoying our well-known hunt country tea, with a selection of sherry, port, and hors d’oeuvres. The day was finished with the couple’s rehearsal at the nearby St. John’s Catholic Church and dinner at Griffin’s Tavern.

Saturday morning marked the start of their big day. The bride and her party had an early breakfast, and the groom and his party enjoyed a later start. As the bridal party prepared for their big moment, the guests were able to enjoy all our area has to offer, including wine tours, horseback riding, antiquing, and shopping.

After their morning of preparation, the groom and bride departed for the church, where Lenny was able to see his beautiful bride for the first time that day. Their church ceremony was followed by time in the beauty of Old Town Warrenton. Mercedes, Lenny, and their guests then returned to the Black Horse Inn for their celebration.

This included the fabulous sounds of a five-piece band, which played during the cocktail hour. The couple shared their first dance before dinner, with family dances and other traditions later in the reception.

Their wedding weekend concluded with a departure breakfast on Sunday morning. We wish Lenny and Mercedes the best for their life together. If you want to find out more about booking a summer wedding at the Black Horse Inn, give us a call today!
